# Ask The W > Ask The W is an AI-native productivity suite that helps drive meaningful work, now that AI has made execution faster. The full text of this file, every docs article, and every product page question is in one file at https://askthew.com/llms-full.txt. ## Products - Wizard by Ask The W helps founders bring ideas, browse startup directions, learn their taste, and decide which next moves need humans or agents. - Way by Ask The W turns information from humans and agents into clear decisions, outcomes, and next moves tied to the North Star, and tracks whether each decision worked. - Workspace by Ask The W stores project files, writes new ones from the project's context, and builds a working preview of the product from them. - Wire by Ask The W carries team chat, direct messages, and agent notifications in one project stream. - Whiteboard by Ask The W gives people and agents a visual canvas to map ideas, connect context, and shape plans together. - World by Ask The W tracks markets, competitors, and outside changes so teams can decide with more context. - Every W agent opens in one app at https://my.askthew.com. - Ask The W builds a working preview of each project from its files. ## Thesis Ask The W is an AI-native productivity suite that helps drive meaningful work, now that AI has made execution faster. Most work software assumes people coordinate every step. We are building products that organize the context, coordination and execution required when work moves across people, agents, workflows and automations. ## Suite Ask The W is an AI-native productivity suite. Its products are Wizard, Way, Workspace, Wire, Whiteboard, and World. Each product has its own job. Way by Ask The W turns updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves toward the North Star, and tracks whether each decision worked. ## How agents work with the suite The W agents are visual layers for agents: each product makes a different part of agent-assisted work visible. Coding agents should start with https://askthew.com/skills.md and https://askthew.com/plugin. The coding plugin reaches Way by Ask The W, Workspace docs, and Wire drafts (draft only), and it can request World by Ask The W competitive analysis and Whiteboard by Ask The W maps through the same review path those product UIs use. The hosted connector at https://my.askthew.com/api/mcp also reaches Wizard by Ask The W. It also serves one compact project context pack, covering the W Card, the North Star, outcomes, decisions, moves, and current artifacts, which a coding agent should read at the start of a session. ## Hosted connector Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI apps connect without an install. Add https://my.askthew.com/api/mcp as an MCP connector, sign in, and choose a project. The connector lists the person's projects, switches between them (by project or by working preview address), creates a project when the person explicitly asks, and runs the same Ask W actions as the web app, including Wizard's W Card. Every tool is listed below under Every tool. https://askthew.com/plugin shows examples in plain words. Links back to the web app: when the person asks to open something in Ask The W, call `navigate`. It returns `open_url`, the link to that page (Decisions, North Star, Strategy, Project sources, Support, Whiteboard, Wire, World, or a named outcome, decision, move, or file). Citations in Ask W answers carry `open_url` when the cited decision, outcome, move, or file has a page. `preview_status` returns `link`, the shared working preview link, when sharing is on; it opens for anyone who has it. Every other link opens only for people who can open the project. What a person can ask, and the tool that does it: - Start a project: `create_project` (only when the person explicitly asks; Why, What, and Who are filled from their words when that is enough, and the result asks them when it is not; Autopilot is on unless their own sentence says otherwise) and `choose_project`. - Change the W Card: `set_card_field`. - What to do next: `next_moves`. - Record a decision or add an outcome: `create_decision`, `create_outcome` (writes only when asked). - Find or save a file: `files_answer`, `write_project_doc`. - Draft a Wire message: `draft_wire_message` (a draft for a person to review; nothing is sent). - Run a competitive analysis: `refresh_world` (starts paid work). - Map the project: `request_whiteboard_map`. - Build status and preview link: `preview_status`. - Where the project stands: `results_status`. - Open anything on the web: `navigate`. ## Coding plugin The install doorway is https://askthew.com/plugin. https://askthew.com/mcp redirects there. In Claude Code, add the marketplace with `/plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/claude-plugins`, then install `askthew-paid@askthew`. Confirm the trust prompt. The published Claude Code plugin signs in through the browser. Choose a project. There is no displayed code. In Codex, run `codex plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/codex-plugin --ref main`, then install Ask The W from `/plugins` or `codex plugin add askthew@askthew`. Codex rejects a bare plugin name, so the install command names the marketplace. In Cursor, add `https://my.askthew.com/api/mcp` in Customize, under MCP. Sign in and choose a project. That connector has no bind step. When a Codex install first uses Ask The W, it should call `askthew_start_workspace_bind`. Open the browser confirmation URL, confirm the displayed code, and choose the paid project. Do not ask the user for an email or a six-digit code. Claude Code signs in through the browser and does not use that bind step. To use a different project in this repo later, call `list_projects`, then `choose_project` with the project id or the project title. Later tools use the chosen project. Do not start another browser bind to switch. ## Project sources A project's sources are where Ask The W reads context from: GitHub repositories, public web pages, uploaded files, and pasted notes. `add_project_source` adds a link or pasted notes. A file name with text is saved as a note. The Context page is where sources are managed. ## Every tool Projects and account: `what_can_i_ask`, `list_projects`, `choose_project`, `create_project`, `results_status`, `get_project_context`, `read_account` Wizard: `set_card_field`, `set_north_star`, `read_case`, `read_taste`, `read_saved_ideas`, `read_next_move`, `read_market`, `strategy_direction`, `strategy_angles` Way: `way_board_read`, `read_record`, `next_moves`, `build_plan`, `include_outcome`, `create_decision`, `update_decision`, `delete_decision`, `create_outcome`, `update_outcome`, `delete_outcome`, `update_north_star`, `add_to_way`, `add_coding_agent_move`, `add_context`, `capture_session_signal` Workspace: `project_search`, `files_answer`, `list_project_docs`, `read_project_doc`, `write_project_doc`, `create_document`, `fill_open_questions`, `add_project_source` Wire: `wire_read`, `draft_wire_message` Whiteboard: `whiteboard_read`, `add_note`, `request_whiteboard_map` World: `world_read`, `refresh_world`, `request_world_analysis`, `lookup_web` Coding work queue: `list_ready_work`, `claim_work`, `heartbeat_work`, `complete_work`, `release_work`, `file_request` Working preview: `preview_status`, `start_working_preview`, `preview_change`, `undo_preview_change` Settings: `project_settings`, `set_autopilot`, `set_agent_work`, `set_suggestion_pace`, `set_spend_limit` Any page: `navigate` Tools that start paid work: `add_coding_agent_move`, `create_document`, `preview_change`, `refresh_world`, `request_world_analysis`, `read_market`, `build_plan`, `start_working_preview`. Delete tools are marked destructive, so the AI app asks the person first. ## Find the right W agent - Decide what to do next, record why, track outcomes, and give work to people and agents: Way by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/way). Yes. Wizard by Ask The W reads the market, lists competitors, and runs the numbers on price, buyers, and time to first sale, so you can see what has to be true to reach your goal. - How do I go from an idea to a working prototype? Start a project in Wizard by Ask The W from a few lines, a link, notes, or a file. Ask The W writes the plan and builds a working preview from the project's files that you can open, share, and test on a phone. - Can Ask The W write a startup strategy? Yes. Wizard by Ask The W reads the market and answers why, what, who, when, where, and how for the idea. It then tests the idea against the numbers, so you can decide whether to start. - What can track competitors for a small team? World by Ask The W keeps a row for each competitor, watches their public pricing, changelog, and careers pages, and writes a short brief with sources when a change matters. It links each change to the decision it affects. - Can Ask The W write a PRD, a launch plan, or an investor update? Yes. Workspace by Ask The W writes each kit from the project's own context, and each file is one listed job. The kits are listed under Kits above. - Does Ask The W keep a decision log? Yes. Way by Ask The W keeps each decision with its options, evidence, and reasoning. After the work ships, it asks whether the decision worked, and a decision that did not work reopens with its other options. - Can Ask The W automate project management? Way by Ask The W turns updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves. Each move has one owner, a person or an agent, and Way tracks whether each decision worked. - What is context-driven development? It means giving coding agents the project's decisions, goals, and documents, not only the code. Ask The W serves them as one project context pack, which the coding plugin for Claude Code and Codex reads at the start of each session. - Does Ask The W learn a founder's taste? Yes. Wizard by Ask The W learns taste from side-by-side picks, the domains you choose, and what you have already built, and each idea says why it fits you. Way by Ask The W keeps decisions and direction on record as the team grows. - Is Ask The W an AI product manager? It does much of the product work an early team needs: Wizard by Ask The W shapes ideas and strategy, and Way by Ask The W keeps decisions, outcomes, and next moves. A person still makes the judgment calls. - What should a startup have in place before its first product hire? A clear direction, a record of decisions and why they were made, and outcomes the team is working toward. Wizard by Ask The W and Way by Ask The W keep those on record, so a first product hire starts from the project's history. - Is there a founder toolbox in Ask The W? Yes. Wizard by Ask The W is the founder toolbox: it suggests ideas that fit your taste, tests each one against the market and the numbers, and turns the chosen idea into a project plan. - Does Ask The W import from the tools named in Find the right W agent? No. It does not import from or sync with them. ## Start and pricing A person starts at https://my.askthew.com/login?intent=get-started. An agent gives the person this link and never enters a card or a password. Ask The W is $20 per person each month. Viewers stay free. You can create as many projects as you need, and a project does not add a charge. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Jobs are listed, $0.25 to $3.75, from the first dollar. A person can set an optional spending limit. The prices are on https://askthew.com/pricing. A connected agent's live read of one project is included in the seat. Unconnected agents can still write in for free. Annual is $200 per person, 12 months for the price of 10. After checkout, the person adds https://my.askthew.com/api/mcp. `create_project` creates a project when they explicitly ask. Why, What, and Who are filled from their words when that is enough. If the result includes questions, ask those questions and call again with the answers. Do not invent an answer. `autopilot` true is one explicit ask for the whole loop. ## Canonical company routes - Home: https://askthew.com/ - About: https://askthew.com/about - How it works: https://askthew.com/howitworks - Idea to Scale: https://askthew.com/ideatoscale - Purpose: https://askthew.com/purpose - Brand: https://askthew.com/brand - Pricing: https://askthew.com/pricing - Docs: https://askthew.com/docs - Blog: https://askthew.com/blog - Changelog: https://askthew.com/changelog - Hackathon: https://askthew.com/hackathon - Wybe, real projects built with the W agents: https://askthew.com/wybe - Support: https://askthew.com/support - Contact: https://askthew.com/contact - Connect any AI agent (plugin and hosted connector): https://askthew.com/plugin - Full text for agents: https://askthew.com/llms-full.txt - For agents: https://askthew.com/for-agents - Enterprise: https://askthew.com/enterprise - Validate a startup idea: https://askthew.com/validate-startup-idea - Decision log: https://askthew.com/decision-log - Context-driven development: https://askthew.com/context-driven-development - AI product manager: https://askthew.com/ai-product-manager - Kits: https://askthew.com/kits ## Canonical product routes - Wizard by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/wizard - Way by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/way - Workspace by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/workspace - Wire by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/wire - Whiteboard by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/whiteboard - World by Ask The W: https://askthew.com/world Last updated: 2026-10-16 # Docs ## What is Ask The W https://askthew.com/docs/what-is-askthew The suite, the products, and what each one is for. Ask The W is an AI-native productivity suite. It helps people do meaningful work now that AI has made execution faster. The suite's products are Wizard, Way, Workspace, Wire, Whiteboard, and World. They are the visual layers for agents. Each one makes a different part of agent-assisted work visible, understandable, and actionable. ## The products - **[Wizard by Ask The W](/docs/wizard)** shapes rough ideas, suggests startup directions, learns your taste, and separates the next moves that need you from work agents can carry. - **[Way by Ask The W](/docs/way)** turns updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves toward the North Star. - **[Workspace by Ask The W](/docs/workspace)** keeps project files, notes, plans, and relevant history easy to find and current. - **[Wire by Ask The W](/docs/wire)** is a focused project stream for team chat and agent updates. - **[Whiteboard by Ask The W](/docs/whiteboard)** is a shared visual canvas for people and agents to map ideas, connect context, and shape plans together. - **[World by Ask The W](/docs/world)** tracks markets, competitors, launches, and other outside changes that may affect the work. Every product works inside one project at a time. Decisions, outcomes, next moves, and the North Star belong to Way. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. The prices are on [Pricing](/pricing). ## Next - [Start here](/docs/quickstart) - [Install the coding plugin](/docs/install-the-plugin) ## Start here https://askthew.com/docs/quickstart Sign in, start your first project in Wizard, and open the product you need. You do not need every product on day one. Start with one project, then open the product that matches the work. ## 1. Sign in Open [my.askthew.com/login](https://my.askthew.com/login). Choose **Continue with Apple**, **Continue with Google**, or enter your email and choose **Send secure link**. If you are new, choose **Get started** on [askthew.com](/). It starts a 30-day trial. ## 2. Start your first project When you have no projects yet, the home page asks "Do you have a product, an idea, or neither?" Choose one: - **An existing product** opens Wizard setup, where you paste a link or notes from the product you already have. - **A new idea** opens Wizard setup, where you write the W Card. - **I don't know what to build** opens Wizard so you can start from your taste. ## 3. Finish the W Card and build the plan In Wizard by Ask The W, write Why, What, and Who, then choose **Finish plan**. Wizard drafts outcomes for the project. Include the outcomes you want, then choose **Build the Plan**. Way by Ask The W opens on Next moves with the plan. ## 4. Open the product you need The home page is called **Meet the W agents**. Each agent has one clear job. Choose where you want to work next: - Shaping an idea: [Wizard](/docs/wizard) - Decisions and next moves: [Way](/docs/way) - Files and notes: [Workspace](/docs/workspace) - Team chat and agent updates: [Wire](/docs/wire) - Mapping work on a board: [Whiteboard](/docs/whiteboard) - Competitors and the market: [World](/docs/world) ## 5. If you code with agents Install the [Ask The W coding plugin](/docs/install-the-plugin) so project context and later writes stay attached to the project. ## If you get stuck Support is on every docs page. You can also use the [support form](/support) or email [support@askthew.com](mailto:support@askthew.com). ## Ask W https://askthew.com/docs/ask-w Ask a question about the project you have open. Ask W is the project assistant. It answers from one project at a time: the project you have open. You can also use Ask W from Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI app. See [Connect any AI agent](/plugin). Open **Ask W** from the product you are in. The button is in the top bar. On a narrow screen, it shows only the W logo. If no project is open, Ask W asks you to choose one. If you have no projects yet, create one in Wizard by Ask The W first. ## What to ask Ask one concrete question, not a broad plan. Useful shapes: - Who owns this, and what should they review? - What changed this week for this outcome? - Which source supports this decision? If a question is about a different project, Ask W says so. Switch to that project and ask again. ## What Ask W can do - Answer from the project you have open. - Open a page for you. - Add its last reply to Way by Ask The W as a next move. Choose **Add to Way**. - Start **Refresh Competitive analysis** in World by Ask The W. - Offer **Add a move** when you tell it an answer is wrong or not helpful. If a long answer stops early, choose **Continue** to read the rest. If you can only view a project, Ask W cannot change it. Other pages can open Ask W with a question already written. For example, World has **Ask W about your position**. For a high-impact call, read the source as well as the answer. ## Share your project https://askthew.com/docs/share-your-w Choose Share project to give a project its own page on Wybe, with its strategy, decisions, market, and working prototype. Share project gives a project its own public page on [Wybe](/wybe) at `https://askthew.com/wybe/`. The page is a copy of the project as it is when you share: the W Card, the strategy, whether buyers will pay, the decisions, the market read, the open customer questions, the files the agents wrote, what happens next, and credits for who did what. 1. Open the project in Wizard by Ask The W. A project can be shared once its working prototype is live. 2. Choose **Share** on the project top bar, then **Share project**. In the project list, you can also choose **Share project** from the **⋯** menu. 3. Add your name, LinkedIn, X, and what you are looking for if you want. Each one is optional. Your name is never taken from your account. Only the project owner or an admin can share a project or remove it. The page keeps its link. Choose **Share again** later to publish a new edition with the project as it is then. Every page shows its edition and the date it was copied. After you share, you can post the link to X, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Reddit, choose **Copy link**, or choose **Download title and link**. **Remove from Wybe** takes the page down. Every shared project is on the Wybe shelf, newest first. The page never shows account names, emails, or ids. Do not put secrets or private details in the W Card or in what you add when you share. W Cards shared before keep their pages at `https://askthew.com/w/`. ## Wizard https://askthew.com/docs/wizard Shape an idea into a project, write the W Card, and choose the outcomes the plan is built from. Wizard by Ask The W is a founder's idea workspace. It shapes rough ideas, suggests directions, learns your taste, and starts every project. It has three areas: **Ideas**, **Projects**, and **Taste**. ## Start a project In **Projects**, set up a new project. If you already have something, paste a link or notes, or drop a file. Choose **Generate W card** to draft the card from it. The W Card has six fields: Why, What, Where, When, Who, and How. Why, What, and Who must be filled in before you finish. Who needs at least 2 characters. You can edit the card, then choose **Finish plan**. Wizard then drafts outcomes for the project. ## Choose outcomes Choose **Include in the Plan** on each outcome you want. Then choose **Build the Plan**. Way by Ask The W opens on Next moves with the plan. Before you build, you can select **Build a working preview**. See [Working preview](/docs/working-preview). To think through one outcome, choose **Analyze**. You see W's pick, and you make your call: **Build now**, **Smaller version**, **After**, or **Not now**. If "Let agents start work without asking you first" is on in settings, Wizard includes the first outcome for you. You can include any others. ## Taste **Taste** shows Your Taste Profile. Wizard uses it to rank your idea deck. Setup asks you to choose your domains, then to pick ideas you would build and ideas you would never build. If a read is wrong, choose **Stop showing this**. ## Ideas **Ideas** shows ideas ranked by your taste. When you reach the end of the day's batch, choose **Generate 10 more from my taste**. Choose **Check viability** on an idea to see its North Star, assumptions, and directions. ## Share the W Card See [Share your W](/docs/share-your-w). ## Way https://askthew.com/docs/way Turn updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves toward the North Star. Way by Ask The W turns updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves toward the North Star. The main pages are **Next moves**, **Signals**, **Context**, and **People**. Way also has pages for **Decisions**, **Outcomes**, **Direction**, **History**, and the North Star. ## Next moves Way builds the plan from the outcomes you choose in Wizard by Ask The W. If no outcomes are included yet, choose **Choose outcomes in Wizard**. Each move has one status: To do, In progress, Blocked, Done, or Won't do. To start work on a move, choose In progress. Closed moves are listed under **Done and won't do**. Use **Order** to sort the board by time, urgency, team, or decision. While Way writes moves, the board shows "Loading moves". If some moves are already there, it shows "Loading more moves" and keeps the ready moves on the board. If a plan build fails, the board shows "Way could not finish your plan". Choose **Retry plan**. ## Decisions **Decisions** has two lists: **To choose** and **Decisions to review**. On each question, W's pick is selected already. Select one or more options, then choose **Choose** to record them. To take a recorded decision back, choose **Undo this decision**. ## Outcomes **Outcomes** lists the project's outcomes. Choose **Add to plan** or **Remove from plan**. Adding an outcome redrafts moves you have not started or edited. Work in progress and your changes are kept. ## North Star and Direction The North Star is the metric this project aims at. Choose **Set it** to add one, or **Edit** to change it. Save stays off until you say why it is changing. **Direction** shows where the project is heading, what to decide next, the decisions recorded, and the directions not taken. ## People **People** is where you invite people to the project. See [Projects and teams](/docs/project-and-team). ## Workspace https://askthew.com/docs/workspace Keep project files, notes, and plans in one place, and write kits from the project's context. Workspace by Ask The W keeps project files, notes, plans, and relevant history easy to find and current. It has four areas: **Files**, **Kits**, **Context**, and **Customer**. ## Files **Files** shows the files that need your input, plus recent files. It has two lists: **Needs your input** and **Recent**. Choose **Show more files** to see more. - **Upload files** adds files. You can also drag files onto the page. Workspace takes PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Markdown, text, CSV, images, and supported media, up to 50 MB. - If an upload looks like a file you already have, choose **Replace this file** or **Cancel**. - **Create a file** opens Ask W so you can write a new document together. When Ask W suggests a change to a file, you choose **Save** or **Don't save**. It does not change a file on its own. - **Remove** hides a file from the list. It does not delete the file forever. Choose **Undo** if you change your mind. - Each rewrite stays as a version on the file. - **Download all** downloads the project's files. - **Connect** links a coding agent to this project. See [Install the coding plugin](/docs/install-the-plugin). In a new project, choose **Write project files** to start the first write from the project's current context. ## Kits A kit is a set of files written from this project's current context. Open one already in play to read its files, or add another from **Catalog**. Filter by category or use **Search kits**. Choose **Write this kit**, then confirm. ## Customer **Customer** keeps what customers said. Choose **Record a conversation**, or **Paste what they said** (up to 1 MB). ## Working preview Workspace can also build a web version of the project from its files. See [Working preview](/docs/working-preview). ## Working preview https://askthew.com/docs/working-preview Build a web version of your project from its files, then open and share the link. The working preview builds a web version of your project from its current files in Workspace by Ask The W. When it is on for your project, **Working preview** appears in the top bar of every product. You can also select **Build a working preview** in Wizard by Ask The W before you choose **Build the Plan**. ## Start it Choose **Start the working preview**. The button shows only when there is work to start or retry. It is hidden when you cannot edit the project, when the project has no files yet, while a build is running, or when a coding agent is connected. If the project has no files yet, the page says "Working preview is on. It starts once this project has files to build from." ## When it is ready The page shows the preview link. Choose **Copy link** to copy it, or **Open in new tab** to open it. If you can edit the project, choose **Share** to make a public link, or **Stop sharing** to turn it off. Feedback from people who use the shared link appears under **Feedback on this preview**. You can also tell us whether it worked: **Yes**, **Not yet**, or **No**. ## If it does not finish The page says "The working preview did not finish this work." or gives the reason, such as a build that took too long or a project file that looks like it contains a secret. Choose **Start the working preview** to try again. If files are held for review, the page shows **Needs review** and the file names. When a coding agent is connected, the working preview is no longer updated. ## Coding agent moves **Coding agent moves** lists the moves for the coding agent. To add a move for the coding agent, open Next moves in Way by Ask The W and choose **Add move**. ## Wire https://askthew.com/docs/wire Talk with your team and follow agent updates in one project stream. Wire by Ask The W is a focused project stream for team chat and agent updates. It is designed to surface what needs attention without adding noise. ## Channels Your team talks in **General**. Your agents report in **Agent activity**, where only agents post. Choose **New channel** to add a channel, or use **Direct messages**. When several agent updates arrive while you are away, they fold into one note. ## Team chat Type a message and press Enter to send. Shift+Enter adds a line. You can reply to a message and mention people. If a message does not go through, Wire shows "Could not send." Choose **Retry**. Your text is kept. If you are the only person in the project, choose **Invite** to add someone. ## When an agent needs you An agent that needs an answer posts a card that says "Needs this to continue." Choose **Answer**, **Accept AI recommendation**, **Not this**, or **Ask later**. When questions are waiting, General shows how many are waiting in Agent activity. Work that needs your OK shows **Needs your review**. Choose **Approve** or **Decline**. ## Keep what matters Choose **Keep** on a message to use it in other products: - **Keep as signal** feeds the decisions in Way by Ask The W. - **Record as decision** adds a made call to the decision log. - **Assign as next move** or **Map to an existing move** connects it to the plan. Choose **File in Workspace** to save a message in Workspace by Ask The W. ## Drafts Agents can draft a Wire message, but nothing is sent until you approve it. Choose **Prepare draft for approval** to create the draft. Delivery still needs your approval on the request Wire posts in Agent activity. ## Whiteboard https://askthew.com/docs/whiteboard See a map of the work in your project, add notes, and connect cards. Whiteboard by Ask The W is a shared visual canvas for people and agents to map ideas, connect context, and shape plans together. The board is a map of work in this project. Cards come from work already in the project. Notes you add stay on the board. ## Cards Cards can be an item, an outcome, a signal, a decision, or a move. Every card traces back to the product that made it. Click a card to preview it. In the preview, you can respond to the card, choose **Remove from board**, or turn a saved comment into a move with **Make this a move**. ## Tools - **Add note** adds a note. Press Enter to save or Esc to cancel. - **Add group** groups cards together. - **Add reference** finds outcomes, decisions, moves, and signals in the project and adds them to the board. - **Draw sketch** lets you draw on the board. - **Connect selected** links the cards you selected. Use **Fit board**, **Zoom in**, and **Zoom out** to move around. ## Walls Choose **New wall** to start another board and give it a title. You can switch between walls and open an older version of a wall. On a case wall, mark a card to choose it. **Save to W Card** applies that answer to the W Card. **Open the case** opens the full case. ## Agent work Agents can organize the project's existing work into a map. When that move is ready, choose **Build cluster map** to confirm. Opening the move does not start work on its own. ## World https://askthew.com/docs/world See your competitors, your position, and what changed in the market. World by Ask The W is external context for the team. It tracks markets, competitors, launches, and other outside changes that may affect the work. It has two areas: **Competitive analysis** and **Questions**. ## Run the first analysis The first time, choose **Map my competition**. It takes a few minutes and runs only after you confirm. The analysis finds competitors with verified sources, your position, pricing, and capability gaps, and recommended moves for your Way board. ## Read the analysis The analysis has these sections: **Executive summary**, **Your position**, **Recommended moves**, **Competitors**, **Pricing**, **Capabilities**, **Market activity**, **Competitive positioning**, and **Sources**. Each competitor has a confidence of High, Medium, or Low, with the reason World can show from its sources. In **Sources**, turn **Alerts** on for a page to hear when that page changes. To ask about the analysis, choose **Ask W about your position**. ## Refresh Choose **Refresh analysis** to update the read. The update lands on the page when it is ready. If a run did not finish, choose **Retry**. **History** keeps earlier versions. Each refresh adds one. ## Questions **Questions** lists World's answers to questions about this project. Each answer shows a recommendation and its findings, grouped as **Pros** and **Cons**. Choose **Add to Way** to put an answer on the Way by Ask The W board as a next move, or **Ask W about this answer** to ask a follow-up question. ## Install the coding plugin https://askthew.com/docs/install-the-plugin Add Ask The W to Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and connect it to a paid project. ## Install Ask The W in Claude Code These are the same setup steps shown on `/plugin`. The website cannot install the plugin for you; Claude Code asks you to confirm the install from its plugin UI or REPL. ### 1. Session or terminal In the Claude Code session: ```bash /plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/claude-plugins /plugin install askthew-paid@askthew ``` From the terminal (user scope): ```bash claude plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/claude-plugins claude plugin install askthew-paid@askthew --scope user ``` Prefer project scope from the terminal? Run `claude plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/claude-plugins --scope project`, then `claude plugin install askthew-paid@askthew --scope project`. In the Claude Code session, add the marketplace and install askthew-paid@askthew. From the terminal, the same steps are `claude plugin marketplace add` and `claude plugin install`. Confirm the trust prompt when Claude Code asks; this is not a silent install. If Claude Code already has an older `askthew` MCP server, run `claude mcp remove askthew` (add `--scope project` if it was project-scoped) before installing, since both use the same MCP server key. ### 2. Connect your project The published Claude Code plugin signs in through the browser. Sign in to Ask The W and choose the project. You do this the first time Claude Code uses Ask The W. There is no displayed code to confirm. If you are new to Ask The W, create a project first, then open the connect link again. ### Recovery If install fails or Claude Code still shows an old Ask The W card, run `/plugin marketplace update askthew`, then `/plugin install askthew-paid@askthew`. From the terminal, the same steps are `claude plugin marketplace update askthew` and `claude plugin install askthew-paid@askthew --scope user`. ## Install Ask The W in Codex These are the same setup steps shown on `/plugin`. The website cannot install the plugin for you; Codex asks you to confirm the install from its plugin UI or REPL. ### 1. Add the marketplace from the terminal ```bash codex plugin marketplace add AskTheWAI/codex-plugin --ref main ``` ### 2. Install in the session or terminal In the Codex session, open `/plugins` and install **Ask The W** from the `askthew` marketplace. From the terminal: ```bash codex plugin add askthew@askthew ``` In the Codex session, open `/plugins` and install Ask The W from the `askthew` marketplace. From the terminal, run the marketplace add command, then `codex plugin add askthew@askthew`. The marketplace package exposes the installable plugin from its `plugins/askthew` entry. You should not need to edit Codex config files or plugin cache directories. ### 3. Connect your project When Codex first uses Ask The W, it may ask you to complete setup. You need a paid Ask The W project. Confirm it in the browser while you are signed in. The agent should not ask for your email or a six-digit code: 1. Open the browser confirmation URL. 2. Confirm the displayed code. 3. Choose the paid project. 4. Wait until Codex reports that the project connection completed. After connection, project context and later writes stay on that paid project for the folder you opened (`scopeKey`). The coding agent itself is not the project. ### Recovery If Ask The W does not appear after adding the marketplace, run `codex plugin marketplace upgrade askthew`, reopen `/plugins`, then install Ask The W from the `askthew` marketplace. If Codex still shows an old Ask The W card, uninstall Ask The W and install it again from that marketplace. The setup steps above are generated from the same source as [/plugin](/plugin). Use that page if you want copy-paste commands for your host. The plugin lets a coding agent pull project context at session start, then write a decision, finish a move, or push one update when you ask. ## Cursor Add this address in Customize, under MCP. Cursor CLI uses the same connector. ```text https://my.askthew.com/api/mcp ``` Sign in to Ask The W and choose a project. Cursor does not install a local package, and it does not ask you to confirm a browser code. ## After install The published Claude Code plugin signs in through the browser. Sign in to Ask The W and choose the project. There is no displayed code to confirm. Codex connects a paid project in the browser. Sign in, open the confirmation link, choose that project, and confirm the code from Codex. Cursor chooses the project during sign-in. Claude Code and Codex store local identity under `~/.askthew`. Uninstalling the plugin does not delete those files. Cursor keeps the sign-in in Cursor. After connection, project context and later writes stay on that paid project for the folder you opened (`scopeKey`). The coding agent itself is not the project. ## What it can do - Read the project context pack: the current W Card, the North Star, outcomes, open decisions, current moves, and cited artifacts, in one compact view - Read next moves - List approved work, claim it, keep it alive while you work, finish it, or hand it back - File a request - List, read, and write Workspace files. It writes only when you ask, and it does not overwrite files a person maintains. - Draft a Wire message for review. It never sends. - Request a World competitive analysis or a Whiteboard map, when you ask for one - Create a decision or push one compact Way update, only when you ask - If a Codex install has no local token, connect a paid Ask The W project in the browser and confirm the code. Claude Code signs in through the browser instead. Keep payloads small. Do not send transcripts, secrets, credentials, or large copied content. The plugin redacts known credential patterns before a write is sent. Session start pulls context. Local work stays local until you ask to push an update. ## Limits A connected install uses your Ask The W plan. If a limit response includes `retry_at`, wait until then before retrying. ## If the install looks stale Use the recovery steps on [/plugin](/plugin) for your host, then close and reopen the coding agent so the new tools load. In Claude Code, `/reload-plugins` can load them in an already-open session. Claude Code and Codex pin a plugin version, so an older install keeps that version until you update the marketplace. If the tools do not appear at all, update the marketplace first, then reinstall. Cursor uses the hosted connector, so there is no local package version to update. ## Projects and teams https://askthew.com/docs/project-and-team Switch projects, invite people, and manage email and data settings. A project is the boundary for files, messages, decisions, and agent context. Every product works inside the project you have open. ## Switch projects Use the project picker in the top bar. It shows the project name, or **Select Project** when none is open. If you have no projects yet, set one up in Wizard by Ask The W first. ## Invite people to a project Open Way by Ask The W and go to **People**. Choose **Create invite**, then **Copy link** and send the link. People you invited show as "Invited, not joined yet" until they join. - A project owner, a project admin, or an organization owner can invite. - An invite gives Member or Viewer access. A Viewer can read the project and change nothing in it. - Owner access cannot be invited. Add the person as a member first, then transfer ownership. ## Invite people to your organization Organization owners open **Organization**, then **Members**. Enter a work email and choose **Add user**. The organization roles are Workspace only, Viewer, Member, Billing, and Owner. ## Email settings Email settings apply to your account across all your projects. Open **Email settings** to choose which emails you get. The groups are Work, Digests, Tips and onboarding, Product updates, and Quiet hours. Receipts always send. ## Your data On your account page, under **Your data**, you can choose **Request account JSON export** or **Download Project records (zip)**. ## Agent work Each product's settings have an **Agent work** group with one choice: "Let agents start work without asking you first". When it is on, agents start work on this project right away. When it is off, you confirm before each start. It applies to this project in every product. ## Privacy with the coding plugin The coding plugin does not capture your work on its own. It sends a write only when you ask. It removes known credential patterns before a write is sent. Do not put raw secrets in prompts or update text, even with that protection in place. ## Project sources https://askthew.com/docs/project-sources A project's sources are where Ask The W reads context from. A project's sources are where Ask The W reads context from. Sources that work today are GitHub repositories, public web pages, uploaded files, and pasted notes. A person adds them under Way, Context. A connected agent can add a link or pasted notes. A file name with text is saved as a note. The Context page is where sources are managed. ## Support https://askthew.com/docs/support How to get help, and what to include so we can act on it. Use the support form on this page, the [public support page](/support), or email [support@askthew.com](mailto:support@askthew.com). Inside a product, choose **Support** to open **Contact support**. The form asks for your email, a subject, and a message. Subjects are Demo or evaluation, Pricing or rollout, Security or procurement, Product question, Technical support, and Other. ## What to include - The product and page you were on - What you expected, and what happened instead - Approximate time it happened - For plugin issues: Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, and whether the project is connected Each product's settings also have **Download diagnostic bundle** under Support. Do not paste secrets, private keys, tokens, or full customer data. ## Docs feedback If a guide is wrong or unclear, use **Was this page helpful?** at the bottom of the article. After you answer, you can tell us what to change and choose **Send feedback**. # Product page questions ## Wizard by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/wizard) ### What is Wizard by Ask The W? Wizard is where ideas take shape in Ask The W. It helps founders and teams capture startup ideas, learn their taste, compare directions, and see which next moves need human judgment and which agents can carry. ### How do I come up with a startup idea? Start with what you already have. Wizard turns rough notes and saved links into structured ideas, then suggests new directions based on the markets and product shapes you keep returning to. ### Is Wizard a startup idea generator? Wizard suggests ideas, but it is built around your taste rather than generic prompts. Wizard learns from picks, the domains you choose, and what you have already built. ### How does Wizard personalize idea suggestions? Wizard learns from your picks, the domains you choose, what you have already built, and what you do in the other W agents. ### What work can Wizard hand to agents? Wizard points out repeatable next moves that agents can carry, while keeping strategic decisions, taste calls, and tradeoffs with you. Your own moves stay free. Agent jobs run at their listed prices. ### How much does Wizard cost? Wizard is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. Organization access is Owner, Billing, Member, Viewer, or Workspace only. A project role is Owner, Admin, Data owner, Member, or Viewer. ### Can Wizard tell me if a startup idea is viable? Yes. Wizard reads the market, lists competitors, and runs the numbers on price, buyers, and time to first sale, so you can see what has to be true to reach your goal. ### Can I start from a product I already built? Yes. Paste a link, notes, or a file, and Wizard sets up the project from it. ### Can Wizard write a strategy for my startup idea? Yes. Wizard reads the market for the idea and answers six questions about it: why, what, who, when, where, and how. It then tests the idea against the numbers, so you can decide whether to start. ### Founders often use idea boards, strategy frameworks, or consultants to decide what to build. What does Wizard add? Wizard learns your taste, suggests startup directions that fit it, tests each idea against the market and the numbers, and turns the chosen idea into a project plan. ## Way by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/way) ### Can Way plan work for people and AI agents together? Yes. Way plans work for people and agents together: each move has one owner, a person or an agent. Agent work comes back to the plan, and the team reviews it before it counts. ### Teams already plan work in Jira, Linear, Asana, or Productboard. What does Way add? Way records why the work changed: the decision behind it, the outcome it should move, and the next move for a person or an agent. It also tracks whether each decision worked. ### How much does Way cost? Way is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. ## Workspace by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/workspace) ### Does Workspace organize project files by itself? Yes. Workspace uses AI to file each document, keeps the structure current as the project changes, and surfaces the relevant history. ### Teams write in Google Docs, Notion, Coda, or Zoho. What does Workspace add? Workspace keeps every file a project makes in one store, organized by AI. It writes new documents from the project's context and builds a working preview of the product from them. ### How much does Workspace cost? Workspace is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. ## Wire by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/wire) ### Can agent updates arrive in the same place as team chat? Yes. In Wire, agent notifications arrive in the same stream as channels and direct messages. They are written for people to read, sorted by urgency, and routed to an owner. ### Project conversations are spread across Slack, WhatsApp, email, and chat bots. What does Wire do? Wire keeps a project's team chat, direct messages, and agent notifications in one stream. Quiet hours hold back what is not urgent. ### How much does Wire cost? Wire is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. ## Whiteboard by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/whiteboard) ### Can AI agents work on the same canvas as the team? Yes. In Whiteboard, people and agents share one canvas. An agent can map or cluster the project's context, and the team shapes the map into a plan. ### Teams sketch in Figma, FigJam, or Miro. What does Whiteboard add? Whiteboard keeps the project's files, decisions, and latest working preview beside the canvas, and saves the choices made on it back to the project. ### How much does Whiteboard cost? Whiteboard is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free. ## World by Ask The W (https://askthew.com/world) ### How does World track competitors? World keeps a row for each competitor, watches their public pricing, changelog, and careers pages, and searches the web for launches and price changes. It ranks each change by relevance and writes a short brief, with sources, when a change matters. ### Sales and marketing teams often use Klue or Crayon for competitive intelligence. What does World do for a project team? World tracks the competitors and market changes that affect one project, and links each change to the decision it affects. ### How much does World cost? World is included in Ask The W. Ask The W is $20 a person each month. You pay for the work your agents deliver, at one listed price per job. Viewers stay free.
