Way

Way by Ask The W turns updates from people and agents into decisions, outcomes, and next moves toward the North Star.

The main pages are Next moves, Signals, Context, and People. Way also has pages for Decisions, Outcomes, Direction, History, and the North Star.

Next moves

Way builds the plan from the outcomes you choose in Wizard by Ask The W. If no outcomes are included yet, choose Choose outcomes in Wizard.

Each move has one status: To do, In progress, Blocked, Done, or Won't do. To start work on a move, choose In progress. Closed moves are listed under Done and won't do. Use Order to sort the board by time, urgency, team, or decision.

While Way writes moves, the board shows "Loading moves". If some moves are already there, it shows "Loading more moves" and keeps the ready moves on the board.

If a plan build fails, the board shows "Way could not finish your plan". Choose Retry plan.

Decisions

Decisions has two lists: To choose and Decisions to review. On each question, W's pick is selected already. Select one or more options, then choose Choose to record them. To take a recorded decision back, choose Undo this decision.

Outcomes

Outcomes lists the project's outcomes. Choose Add to plan or Remove from plan. Adding an outcome redrafts moves you have not started or edited. Work in progress and your changes are kept.

North Star and Direction

The North Star is the metric this project aims at. Choose Set it to add one, or Edit to change it. Save stays off until you say why it is changing.

Direction shows where the project is heading, what to decide next, the decisions recorded, and the directions not taken.

People

People is where you invite people to the project. See Projects and teams.
